Settlement & Payouts
What happens when a market resolves and how payouts are distributed.
After Resolution
When a market resolves, every position is automatically settled based on the final resolution value.
- Long holders receive the resolution value per contract (between $0 and $10).
- Short holders receive $10 minus the resolution value per contract.
Payouts are credited to your account balance automatically. No manual claim required.
Settlement Timeline
Market expires
The market reaches its expiry time. No new trades are accepted.
Resolution
The final outcome is determined — either by oracle data (for price markets) or by a designated operator (for manual markets).
Payout
Your payout is calculated and credited to your account balance. You can withdraw immediately.
Early Exit vs Holding to Resolution
You always have two options:
- Close early — trade out of your position before resolution. Your P&L is based on your exit price, not the resolution value.
- Hold to resolution — keep your position until the market resolves. Your P&L is based on the final resolution value.
